WORK IN THE ADMINISTRATIONS OF THE EUROPEAN UNION

There are around 50,000 public employees (civil servants and agents) working in the institutions, bodies and agencies of the European Union (EU). Selection processes are held every year to recruit numerous employees in different categories and for a wide variety of jobs, with no quotas based on nationality or age limit for participation.

In addition, students and graduates have the opportunity to undertake professional internships for a certain period of time in the EU.
Furthermore, civil servants in the administrations of the Member States can broaden their professional experience by undertaking temporary stays as national experts in their various forms.

The Permanent Representation of Spain to the EU , through the Unit for the Presence of Spaniards in the EU Institutions, develops information activities on employment opportunities and various professional internships in the EU administration, training and guidance for better preparation for selection processes and management of programs aimed at Spanish public employees willing to work temporarily in the Institutions.

The Unit for the Presence of Spanish Citizens in EU Institutions also carries out activities to promote and develop the professional careers of EU officials of Spanish nationality.
